HPD Officer Fired After DWI Crash

Houston police chief, Charles McClelland, has fired Sgt. Ruben Trejo. Trejo, a patrol sergeant, was charged with drunk driving after he crashed into a school bus on his way to work. Chief McClelland stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional officers may also be disciplined in connection with the April accident. According to prosecutors, Trejo’s blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
