A man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing his yellow Hummer into the arm of a railroad crossing near the Highland Village shopping center – around 2:30a.m. last Thursday, an Westheimer Rd. near Drexel Dr. According to police, the driver veered off the road, crashing into the crossing arm, over the tracks and continued towards Richmond Ave.
Union Pacific Railroad officials are still assessing the damages and will have personnel on site to ensure public safety, as there is still no arm. The accident also caused warning lights to malfunction, delaying trains.
