Harris County authorities have arrested Elena Fuentes, the 27-year-old Houston mother previously convicted of intoxicated manslaughter (in a crash that claimed her daughter’s life), again charged with DWI. Fuentes received 10 years’ probation in 2009 for her prior conviction. In the first case, Fuentes was intoxicated behind the wheel of the Ford Explorer that veered off the road, hitting a tree. It was necessary for firefighters to pry Fuentes and her daughter from the vehicle--the little girl did not survive.
